Peace, joy and love to you! Christmas 2015

Each year Christmas seems to come a little quicker; kids grow and mature a little faster; my grey hair seems to take over more of my head…
But I sure wouldn't trade these days for anything.  Well... I WOULD trade the hair color…

What a great year it has been.  Our family has been truly blessed. God is great - as always!  We are all healthy, active and happy.  Matt is still traveling much of the time and is getting opportunities to see amazing places and have wonderful experiences.  I got to go with him to Italy in June and it was FABULOUS!  I LOVE ITALY!  So beautiful and the people were lovely.  And the food!  Oh, the food!  It was heavenly. Seriously, everyone should go there.  (But not to Milan - I did not care for that place at all. There are plenty of other places to go in Italy so, do yourself a favor and just skip Milan all together.  You're welcome.)
I am still volunteering in the elementary school library, on 1 PTO, at church with Children's Ministry, and at a place that provides services to kinship families. When I'm not volunteering I am starting lots of projects around the house.  Finishing projects is another story.  I am still very thankful that I am able to stay home and not have to work right now.  The kids are so busy with sports, music, friends, etc. once school gets out, it is nice to not have the added stress of a job.  (But I still miss the library, which is why I spend a lot of time in Mackenzie's.)

Madison is 13 and in 7th grade. She is still playing competitive soccer.  It takes up a LOT of her time but she really enjoys it and very rarely complaints about the long seasons.  She it still playing, and enjoying percussion in band at school.  She tried cross country at the beginning of the school year and is hooked… although she has always been a natural runner.  She enjoys the youth group at church and has made great choices in her friends.  Really great kids!

Mackenzie is 10 and in 4th grade.  She had to sit out of the fall soccer season due to a broken foot but she is very eager to get back out there in February.  She is still playing recreational soccer but the teams are dwindling as the kids get older.  I'm not sure how much longer the rec seasons will last for her.  She is in a Destination Imagination groups at school that she LOVES.  She is also in the school choir.  For those of you that know how shy and reserved she used to be, you'll be shocked and excited to know that she tried out for a speaking part in her 4th grade program… and got a part!!  She's super pumped about it and we could not be more happy for her.

Our family is all doing well.  We celebrated my grandmother's 99th birthday this year and welcomed a new cousin, Olivia Grace (Brian & Tiffany's).  Seriously, this year could not have packed in another blessing!  I pray that 2016 is just as wonderful for you and your family as well.

Love and blessings,
The Wetzig Family
